As has been explained, it is Welsh for home and was the name of our property
when we lived in West Wales for nearly thirty years.

As we live on the boat it seemed appropriate and we thought we may have an
unique name. However, cruising along the Oxford last summer we found another
one which was a bit of a blow.

Another, and more popular Welsh name is Cariad, meaning sweetheart (or
similar endearment).

Could someone explain the connection between homepage and hafan please?

As is usual with IE, my posts never show up on my email downloads. And
before someone suggests Thunderbird, I use it already for newsgroups and
find it about as user friendly as an alligator with toothache.
