Following last night's mini-earthquake, about which nearly everyone
seems to have been asking wittily "Did the Earth move for you?", BW has
announced that part of the Chesterfield Canal may have been affected by
it.

A stoppage notice reads: "Due to an overtopping incident it has been
necessary to reduce the water level of the Chesterfield Canal in the
Babworth area by approximately 3 inches. Upon investigation it appears
that the damage may have been caused by last night's earthquake."

Babworth is near the 2.5 mile pound between Retford and Forest Locks. So
what happened? Did the earthquake cause a mini-tsunami along the pound?
