Yes I've been meaning to post this info since I got confirmation from
Tim about the funeral arrangements. It is indeed very sad. John had
been ill for some time, certainly since after Christmas when he and
maddie took daffy truck aka The Yellow Peril aka The chip van down to
pembrokeshire for a christmas/New Year break.

My understanding is that John's coffin will be taken up as far as the
Blue Lias on Newdigate and thence to banbury on the coal lorry.

Connie and I will be there. We''re travelling up to WB on the Wednesday.
Connie will be on the train from Hastings and I'll be driving up from
Somerset. I'm taking Dad to a funeral in bath on the Tuesday.

As Brian has said John was a larger than life character and willbe
greatly missed by may people in the waterways community. Some of you
may also know that my first and much loved boat "Thorn" was one of
John's winter projects so I've known both him and Madeline ever since
the day I came back to the water after 23 years.
