All the mobile operators are implored to share masts and have been  
since the technology first began to spread.  However, the antennas  
have to have a certain vertical separation distance - typically about  
2m plus the height of the additional antenna, so mast sharing means  
the mast structures have to be significantly taller and often more  
massive [to take the extra wind forces].  Sometimes the planners  
think that several smaller masts are better than one biggun.

However, that doesn't mean that frequencies are shared.  I expect Mr  
Keens will be along in a bit to explain the electronic jiggery-pokery  
that us planners have only a limited grasp of.
