The would presumably be the view of this poster to Narrowboat World.
(Mind you we were out of Easter and came home early, and I've had
bronchitis since.)

Worst holiday ever
My husband and I have just arrived home from our Easter holiday, and
it was the worst we have ever experienced.
We have both been avid followers of the waterway programme on
television, and I should imagine, like many others, were captured by
the idyllic lifestyle, so decided to give it a try before going into
it fully.
The television series always showed the quiet leafy canals in glorious
sunshine, but nothing could have been further from the truth. We
cannot choose the weather, and this Easter must have been one of the
worst, but on the boat we hired there was no facility for drying
anything and the heating system was dismal.
The television series never mentioned the wind and that a narrowboat
acted as little more than a sail, with it being constantly blown into
the side and stuck.
At one place we were blown into, kids tried to get on board, but one
fell into the water before he managed it, then they all ran along the
side of the canal throwing stones at us, then dashed to a bridge to
drop stones onto us.
This 'idyllic lifestyle' is little more than propaganda to get people
on the waterways and shows little of the actual realism of life aboard
a narrowboat, especially in bad weather.
As far as we are concerned, they can keep it.
