Yep we've done it and just come home this afternoon - will post a few
notes on the trip in due course. Can confirm we've just paid £47.50 for
two nights on the harbour and used no facilities whatever other than
mooring. On a serious note we were told that the feeder canal was
closed for dredging when we were on our way down but carried on
downriver anyway, contacting the Netham lockie before leaving Hanham -
he said come on down, no problem and indeed there wasn't but rumours
are circulating that the feeder is shortly closing for 3 months for
further dredging - you may wish to check this out further - try
www.bristol.gov.uk/bristolharbour or email
[EMAIL PROTECTED] or the harbour masters office is
01179031484 - they proved to be very friendly and helpful to narrow
boats (even hire ones!). As I said these may well prove to be nothing
but rumours, it would seem odd to close off access at the start of the
season but you've nothing to lose by checking.
