Not on my boat it isn't because on deeper locks often not long enough to give me time to close the gate and still be able to hang onto the rope (the boat is 60 foot, the centre rope is about 30 [not long enough to get caught in the prop] so one would have to be really quick, strong and nimble to close the bottom gate of a moderately deep lock and still have control of the boat.
