Reading the various emails regarding prices of real ales, as some will know for
my sins Im the Committtee Chairman for Little Venice, and it was my push to
have a Wrg Run Real Ale bar again, happen several yeas ago, so last year we had
our first attempt.

Again this year we had our bar, but the hardest thing is to come up with a
price that you can sell the beer.

I know how much everything cost, so we are covered on that, obviously using
volunteers etc. Last year we charged £2.80 per pint and this year was £3.00,
with a 20pence deposit for a plastic glass, which was refunded on return of
said glass! but a charity box was also on the bar.
But not going to pubs all the time etc, we had to go by what people told us.
Most thought the price was about right. But you sometimes got in my local I
only pay x amount! Price must have been about right we sold 23 barrels of real
ale, a lot of cider and wine.

(£2.90/pint).While I agree that this is FAR too much, it's quite possibleto pay
£3.10 (or more) for a pint (of real ale - I don'tknow what lager costs). While
out tramping in Portugal recently we called in ata posh restaurant and bought
two half-litre mugs of beer.Three euros (for the two), i.e. £2.40. Makes you
