Fri May 30th - 26 miles, 6 furlongs, 18 locks - Crick to Kilby Total cruising time 10 hours 35 minutes.
Kicked off at 7.20am for the run across the summit. Welford Junction at 10.45am, top of Foxton at 1.00pm. Had to wait for 70 minutes for half a dozen boats to come up the staircase before the two boats in front of me and I set off down. Cleared the bottom by 2.55pm and turned left for Leicester. Decided we wouldn't make it to Kilby Bridge at any sensible hour, so moored for the night just above "Bottom Half Mile" lock (nearest village Kilby) at 7.05pm. Food and booze on board this evening. The plan is for Trent lock on Sunday evening, Langley Mill on Monday evening if anyone is around - always providing the Soar behaves itself this weekend. Terry Streeter NB Arun - Kilby
