We fitted emilyanne with a shilling rudder (see my artical on wiki) 
last year. Mainly for fun, but also because she isnt the nimblest, 
and it was an experiment in improving her handling within the 
contrains of rudder size (like, its already only 2inchs clear off the 
prop) and we didnt feel like major hull work.

 - At the time it was suggested that this should/may/would improve 
stearing in reverse, or atleast, that others have found it to on 
there (smaller, more manoverable) boats.

Im practice i would say the improvment, although noticable, is not 
significant. And so i have no real ground to talk about improved 
reversing.
