Tue Jun 3rd - 20 miles, 5 furlongs, 17 locks - Langley Mill to
       Nottingham
Total cruising time 10 hours 10 minutes.

Left Langley Mill at 8.35am in steady rain. As an added bonus, BW had
been at work with the strimmer at some locks, so both boat and ropes
got covered in wet grass. Steady run down to Trent Lock mostly in rain,
occasionally drizzle. A mixed bag in terms of locks. some in our favour
with gates open, some against us. Stopped for a quick shop at the co-op
in Sandiacre to restock the larder. Reached Trent Lock Junction at
4.45pm. A quick look down the weed hatch revealed a few small bits of
debris - nothing major, just enough to make the exhaust a bit smoky.
Out of Trent Lock Junction, turned left into the Cranfleet Cut. We were
fortunate to arrive at Cranfleet lock as another narrowboat was about to
go down. He was only going through the lock to wind before coming back
up, so we didn't have to close up and could be on or way. Left
Cranfleet Lock at 5.20pm and got to Beeston lock at 6.00pm, so a little
over 6MPH. Through Beeston and Castle Lock to leave us moored on the
Nottingham Canal for a second night at 7.25pm. Spag Bol for supper
followed by a quick trip to Jerusalem for a beer.
