Hi all, My friend Jez and I have just returned from a glorious two weeks cruising during which we only got wet once! We set off from Acton Bridge on Friday 23 may and stopped for the night at Anderton. Next morning, Dolly the cat wouldn't let us move off- she'd decided to have her kittens in the aft cabin- on my bed! She produced three - all tabby, one darker than the others, whom we named Anderton, Acton and Serenity. We then boated off to the Broken Cross pub to wet their heads. When we returned, she'd had a fourth one- a ginger tom, we called Lion after the guest beer we'd been drinking- last Lion in England.
Had a great cruise up the Llangollen in scorching weather and took a trip on the steam train and the horse-drawn boat, came back via Middlewich and hailed Wendy aboard Felis Catus III who invited us for G&T. Several generous tumblerfuls later, when Gill and john arrivedhome, this extended into a fish supper in the garden, where we watched Dolly, across the cut aboard Serenity, see off a very large alsatian and its owner with her cartoon angry cat impression and much hissing. Disappointed to find we'd just missed the Jannocks yet again, but passed jannock moored up later with no-one aboard. Back home now, feeling a little deflated, but Dolly and Kittens are doing fine!
