Don't know the engine gearbox set up of B43 but is this the soft (plastic) part of the coupling between engine and gearbox or between gearbox and prop shaft ? Presumably the transmission routinely "snatches/clunks" when changing gear and I suspect the sound and feel of this snatch changed in the run up to the failure. Not much help I know but I shall see how this thread develops. I'm expecting a failure so have a spare coupling ready ! Beeky nb Being Prepared
