It is with great sadness that we are writing to inform you that David
Cooper passed away on Saturday the 28th of June, late in the evening.
He had experienced a minor stroke at Easter and been undergoing
various tests to establish the cause. On the 19th of June he suffered
a serious stroke at home and was rushed to Wexham Park hospital. The
stroke left him unable to speak or move, but the life threatening
condition was 'aspiration' of the lungs. This was a result of having
eaten shortly before the stroke and food entering the lungs during
choking.

He remained in intensive care for nine days but was fully conscious
and aware of his condition. We spent many hours with him there and he
was able to communicate answers to us by blinking. The lung condition,
however, continued to deteriorate which ultimately was the cause of death.

Funeral details will follow when formalities and arrangements have
been finalised. We would appreciate written communication only at this
difficult stage.

Liz, Sally and John Cooper
