When I renewed by telephone last week I was told I would have the licence in 15 days! and that my account would not be debited till then.CKP

We've been very "good" in London so far this year, we've only crushed 15 boats so far .... and sold a few more and have more than a very lot of active cases on the go. Trouble is as fast as you deal with one boat at least another 3 pop up in its place playing the same silly game. Bottom line is if you are on the cut and are legitimate play the game. If not, get out fast because slowly and surely the powers that be will catch up with you and it will cost you. Not having a licence is a criminal offence as some are finding out. Not displaying is also a bylaw offence and wastes a lot of time and angst for BW staff and also other boaters but I'm not even going to go there where other more pressing stuff needs sorting first like having a BSC and insurance... . I know us boaters are paying a lot and it seems to get more by the minute, but all of us need to contribute to this wonderful asset we all love and cherish or else everything is going to go down the pan faster than it is unless DEFRA et all buck their ideas up. Please note this is personal view and not official policy. Overall in the long term I hope and sincerely believe things could be looking up for us canaloholics.
