I have recently put a Lister HR2 into Bream and before that had an HA2. On the first there was no tickover (you could throttle it all the way down to a stop) and on the second I have adjusted it so that you can go almost all the way down. I don't see any problem with this apart from the (occasional need to dash to restart the engine!) and it certainly helps when passing other boats.
