Splitting hairs rather Adrian - but I know what you mean and the
background to your comments :-))

The GU is most definitely not narrow for most of the way - not now
anyway.

Regarding the Shroppie - maybe I should have called it the Birmingham
and Liverpool Junction Canal - which was / is narrow. The Chester
canal is broad/wide or whatever.... :-)
