That's a factor that will hit the waterways increasingly in the future I'm afraid. It's the reason that we are selling Albion as we cannot justify the £2500 per year it costs to keep her in the water, insured and at a linear mooring when we are boating in France most of the time. That cost is before the scheduled BW licence increases of the next few years and, goodness knows what increases in mooring charges (although, in fairness, our boatyard on-line mooring fees are reasonable for an area where there is a shortage of marinas).
