Approximately 5 miles.
We will meet at the Canal Basin, Mill Street East, Savile Town, DEWSBURY,
West Yorkshire, WF12 9BD.
Refreshments & toilets available at 'The Leggers', Canal Basin from 10 am.
Along with car parking.
We will walk along the original canal line (1764) and the 'new' canal cut
(1798),
also looking at local railway alignments and sites of local industries and then
returning to the canal basin.
There will be a lunch break at The Perseverance Inn, Forge Lane, Thornhill
Lees, where the new owners have promised us hot sandwiches or soup.
Stout shoes or boots and waterproofs are recommended. Please contact
