Allan asked about 3s service. I purchased an unlocked dongle on Ebay for under £45 (inc. P&P) and use a Vodafone or Three SIM in it dependant on who has the best coverage at the location. 3 is on PAYG whereas Voda is contract. I do have the firmware upgrade software for the Huawei E220 to get the higher (mobile broadband +) data rates from it. My experience so far is that 3 has better 3G coverage that Vodafone do. Voda gets slow when it reverts to 2G (Red light flashing) and if your Voda 3G coverage is iffy a lot of time is spent shuffling between the two options. Try setting up two different user profiles in the Vodafone application, one for 3G and one for 2G only. If you get a good Blue light, select 3G profile and a red light allows you to select 2G only. This will allow you to disable the 3G where the coverage is poor which speeds up (if you can say that about GPRS) the data throughput.
