I would hate to think of what you're carving at the cheaper price! Probably not, Steve. Pub and Carvery restaurants are part of a chain and we have one in our village. From Monday to Saturday inclusive, you can get a carvery for £3.50 and very good it is too. On Sundays the price goes up to £6.50. They have three meats - turkey (and as it is still on the carcass it is recognisable as such), ham and roast beef. You then have a choice of a couple of kind of potatoes and about half a dozen veg, which are always properly cooked and fresh. When it opened here several months ago(it used to be a Beefeater which was awful) we thought that the price would go up or the standard would fall but neither has happened. It is always packed. They have a couple of other items on the menu but these tend to be based on the meats on the carvery so I presume that they can keep to these prices by buying very large quantities of a few items rather than buying smaller quantities of a large range of items. They do puddings as well but we have never sampled these. Ann
