The then landlord moved out to the Bell at Gumley (about 1½ miles away from Foxton) and took his staff (and customers) with him. If you like Chinese food, I recommend the Shoulder of Mutton which is now less of a pub and more of a restaurant; the Shoulder is about 100 yards the other side of the bridge from the Black Horse.
