It is a bit late but this is the first opportunity I have had to edit
it since then.

Hope this is of interest,

Excellent, Ben! It reminds me of a winter long ago when walking my Bull Terrier
Bess alongside the frozen Paddington Arm @ Horsenden Hill. Nothing was moving
that day on the water, save the BW maintenance boat 'Ruislip.' I believe it
has something like a 36'' screw [well, massive anyway] & was making short
shrift of ice thicker than features on your vid. Being thicker, the ice gave up
its solidity with a high-pitched unearthly scream. 'Ruislip' kept pace with me
walking on the towpath so I was able to enjoy the spectacle for some 15
minutes--great!!
Talking of thick ice, the winter of '62-'63 where it snowed initially on
Boxing Day & melted in March, the ice reached a thickness of 18''. This was
discovered after curious BW staff took a chainsaw to the ice. I can remember
going to school day after day with the snow just remaining piled up everywhere.
