I sent the following message to the WF sailing club

I shall be cruising the Cheshire canals in my narrowboat in the summer
and wondered if such craft ever enter the lower flash and if so is
their presence frowned upon by the locals. Obviously you wouldn't want
some tearaway spoiling your racing but is a trip round the flash
feasible for a boat of 30 inch draught ?

Thank you

Sorry Water around the sailing club and the water from the town bridge
end will not accomodate a narrow boat silted up you will get struck.

Am I surprised - not really.

Am I still going - yes, probably on a Sunday morning.

Could I be hugely embarrassed - quite possibly.

Big contrast with the sticks and rags types at Lydney Yacht Club who
couldn't have been more welcoming.
