Which one? If it is any one other than the bottom lock one, all the in-flight pounds below it will run short of water if it is used. But, if it is the bottom one, the pound above it will (subsequently) simply overflow to waste if it is used. This seems barmy to me. BW has said several times that restoring and maintaining sidepounds is uneconomic, as their (erroneous) use by inexperienced people (which apparently is most boaters) generally results in *more* water being used than if the sidepounds remained unusable.
