I believe the populist buy into the "government will protect us" They have no knowledge of history, with what happened at Hastings and the Magna Carta, not to mention the other "historic" documents, including King George III and the Declaration of Independence, or why the US Constitution is structured as it is, to give us the freedom we have now. With technology the younger folks do not seem to see the dangers..... They embraces the data and tell all, in doing so giving up their freedom and mine!!!! We in the Boating World are much more aware of our freedom. (And here, they certain do not know the Monarchy is now a figurehead constitutional monarch.) I am very hearted to hear there are some True Englishmen, who still voice the views which lead to Our Form of Government (the Parliament System and the US Congress). What we hear, on this side of the pond, is how great the Camera System in London is for tracking criminals. With technology, there is no harm in being a bit paranoid.....
