I did like the "bit of rope to activate the decompression valve" -
reminds me of a Field Marshall tractor, where you have about 6 or 7
turns of the engine before the decompression lever's operated and the
engine starts.

It's also interesting to note how low the tiller is - most modern
boats have them set much higher.
