I seem to remember that DHs problems in extending the Avon to Warwick included
the National Trust who wanted no boat peasants near their place as the deer
might escape (among other excuses). Further up Warwick Castle was another major
anti while the SonA council lot made their usual anti noises to the country
council and others. But that was some years back.

If the problem is "constant traffic by enormous boats crewed by

smaller boats! ;-) (Ducks for cover.)

Seriously this is a brilliant and really important project - especially
for "enormous" boat(er)s - and I wish it all the luck in the world. I'm
sure that I joined the SWWT at some rally or other but I never heard
from them again :-( Great to hear a suggestion of real progress.
