I know it's hard to believe but the library took delivery of new[er] computer
screens the other day [not *new* don't be silly!!] & new[er] hardware.
The upshot of it is:- clicking on reply [as I just did re drowning ducks]
results in the text line going off into the distance of the right-hand horizon
showing no signs whatsoever of conforming to screen size. However, when I
receive my own posting back via the list, the writing is corralled as usual but
shows no regard for any line spaces etc. that I have put in in making my reply,
consequently the original & my comments on it bleed into one another!
