Hi, On the subject of extended periods away from your house, its worth looking at Nationwide BS home insurance as they don't have any time restrictions, there conditions are that someone visits the property at regular intervals and during the winter there were some conditions regarding minimum temperatures, its really worth double checking with them that they still offer this service as they are also very competitive on the premiums
hope that helps Brian ----- Original Message ----- From: Roger Millin To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, May 07, 2009 8:23 PM Subject: [canals-list] Re: NB Contents insurance ? There was content's cover as part of the whole policy but no TV exclusion IIRC. The one thing you might have to watch is your home insurance as we've found that complete absences of more than 3 months invalidates your house cover unless you notify them and pay a relatively heavy additional premium.
