I have moved my account of these three linked waterways, accessible
only from Ireland's south coast, to my Irish Waterways History
website. I've also updated and amended the material slightly and added
some links. The material is now at

http://irishwaterwayshistory.com/abandoned-or-little-used-irish-waterways/the-bride-the-munster-blackwater-and-the-lismore-canal/

The Blackwater and Bride were amongst the last areas served by the
Irish Sea schooner trade, which lasted into the 1950s, with coal
coming in from Wales and pit-props going the other way. The schooners
included the De Wadden (now in Liverpool Maritime Museum), the
Kathleen & May (still afloat) and the ketch-rigged trow Jonadab, now
in Purton.
