With a slow processor on an old computer I found a solution to the problem,
right click on the ikon in the task bar on the lower righthand side of your
screen a pop up menu will give you the option to stop all scans or pause all
scans, simple ,normal service is then resumed.Alternatively you can go into the
main menu of AVG and disable shedual scans altogether it is then simple to run
a scan when you want, like when you go shopping or do not need your computer
for other work.CKP
