If you are a visitor you'll get a visitor number that is your  
temporary "unique name" and some tacky (in more ways than one)  
stickers to place on bow and stern... EA don't care about your BW reg  
or your actual boat name (or lack of it...) unless you apply for a  
full EA licence. That's why I'm 'n.b. Whisper' and not just 'Whisper'.  
The n.b. was sufficient to make the name unique on the Thames...

You only need nav lights if you plan to cruise after dusk.
