The gearbox on Bream packed in as I was manoeuvring into Harecastle 2 years ago. Fortunately it was fixed fairly quickly but I certainly wouldn't have fancied doing the job in the tunnel.
Seeing as you have the good fortune of extra time in the area why not walk over to Burslem Port, which is only 10 mins away. A fascinating example of a site that would be wonderful if/when regenerated but is currently a clearance area. Good old visionary Stoke council :-) Steve the Stokie NB Bream
