Ahh, that's interesting.  When I came down Shireoaks Middle lock last 
summer I had a problem with Arun sat on something.  I partially refilled 
the lock to float her again and watched carefully as I let the water out 
again and Arun came down normally and I was able to motor out.  This 
step must have been the cause of my problems.
