Not where we live

The bus between the two nearest towns  used to do a tour of the local
villages. Alternating one way one trip and the other way the next.
This meant that if you caught the bus on Tuesday you couldn't come back
until Thursday. They eventually cancelled it through lack of use.
I wonder why that was !?
