Only issue I noticed was the missing posting postings here only go back a month so cant look for the other problem. However In OE I did have a retention problem this week across 3 news servers which meant I had to refresh all of them hence only a months postings here. That was a database problem resulting in missing posts in OE not anything to do with gmane.
