For a safe mooring try Crooke Marina - not sure on contact number but when we were at the Preston Brook National we talked to a number of boats from there and they said that visiting boats are most welcome, they have on line moorings and numerous off line. As far as I recall they are also AWCC. On the Rufford Arm there is a BW sani point at Bridge 8A, there are two or three livaboards there, that would also be dead safe. The two boatyard/marinas at Rufford would most probably let you have a berth for a small fee, there is a train station there as well that connects to Wigan and Preston? Terry
