That's exactly the filter HDF296 - but I've never drained out any water from the thing. I did remark to Roger Millin that the filter element was blackened about 1/3 way from the outside, towards the inside. Can't say I noticed anything before. If that's a separator I'm just pleased I've had nothing to separate. Interesting . . the Coopers looks just like the Fram. It's Delphi for me, every time. I don't have the alloy collector at the bottom, and the extended bolt that would enable me to fit it but since I have never ever drain any water out I'm not over worried. Of course I have used about 2 litres of Fuelset over the past 7 years. Beeky
