I'm VERY concerned about this proposal. My concern isn't that I may have to go chasing all over the place to recover my narrow boat (that I don't have any more ;-))) it is the friction effect on my ropes. I am a habitual over-stayer and I am sure that with repeated withdrawals of my mooring bollards my ropes are going to get badly worn. What I want to know is whether I can get the cost of replacement ropes deducted from my next licence? It's only fair after all that, for a continuous over-stayer like myself, I get my ropes replaced at someone else's cost. It's a worrying development for the life of my ropes but, if the principle could be incorporated into an automatically lowering bank-side as well then I could get my blacking subsidised. ;-)) Roger
