I don't know if this is common knowledge or not but I found this site on a 
railways group.
I found it fascinating with the history and photo's as good as any site I have 
seen.
It covers both rail tunnels and the canal tunnel.

Somebody put me out of my misery & post a link that WORKS rather than a yellow 
screen with 'myspace' at the top centre that, when 
clicked on, tells me all about 'pendulum' a musical act that I wasn't impressed
