(Compare BW board salaries to National Trust) It's only the operational directors that get high pay. IIRC, the non-operational ones get about k£5/year. So let's say that the salaries of 10 directors (there may not be that many operational ones) were reduced by k£50/year each on average. That would release k£500/year. I'm afraid that amount is fairly trivial compared with the recent funding shortfall of over M£25/year, let alone the size of the maintenance (including dredging) backlog which is in the hundreds of millions. Not that I don't agree that some BW folk are paid too much. I'm sure if their jobs were put to the market, people at least as competent could be found who would do the work for significantly less money. Adrian Adrian Stott Tel. UK (0)7956-299966
