We are back indoors.

Sun 22 Aug
Sells Green VMs to Bradford-on-Avon Marina - 7 mi, 3 fl; 7 locks, 6 swing
bridges.
Start 11:25, moored up at 18:15.
What, a bright sunny morning? Still had to wait until 'The Archers' was done
with before pushing off. We paired up with a competent Alvechurch hire crew
with plenty of time to admire the antics of a cheerfully hopeless mob on 2
Anglo-Welsh boats in front of us. Stopped below the Seend Flight for lunch at
13:20 and enjoyed the sunshine so much we stayed until 15:30. As we unhitched,
the Alvechurch boat also pulled away so we were assured of a quiet time on the
Semington locks. BW have given up the unequal struggle to retain padlocks on
the swing bridges on this stretch. One bridge had been left open [so we paused
to close it] whilst another was operated for us by a cheery bunch of folk
picnicking on the table thoughtfully provided alongside the bridge. Weather
took a turn for the worse and there was a little rain just before we parked the
boat on its mooring. Stayed dry long enough for us to pack up and move our
stuff into the car. Now safely under a tiled roof listening to the rain.
