So Three doesn't appear to be particularly fond of Google Hangouts while tethered. I've been moving my calls to Tuesday as it's mostly clear, and chatting over IRC to fill the gap. I'm going to remain optimistic that the engineers will arrive soon after 1pm and hold off on moving my calls in the late afternoon.
