As a followup to my previous email about moving to precise, I've pushed an MP [1] to make utopic the default. As you can see, there's not much needed now to make it default to a different series, but the important piece is really that url for the base image. In the near term, we'll be fixing that up so that it'll know how to get to the right base image for any supported distro.
