2 big issues: camera does not work. it works in windows. using ubuntu 2024-04 LTS and searching everywhere, i see some people manage to fix this by installing some thing. nothing that worked for me though, from https://askubuntu.com/questions/1511902/webcam-not-working-on-kubuntu-24-04-on-a-dell-5480 through https://wiki.ubuntu.com/IntelMIPICamera#Known_Issues and even https://www.reddit.com/r/DellXPS/comments/1cfu7ih/ipu6_webcams_in_ubuntu/?sort=new i still hope to find a solution. and; type assistant repeat key often breaks. if i unset it, i get no bug, but also unexpected and unefficient keyboard function. when holding arrow up, i want to keep going up. without this, it doesn't. and with this setting, any key will repeat randomly at their will, including keys like CTRL+W and CTRL+Q which often leads to lost work, regardless of my many backup solutions set in place to not lose anything, thanks to decades of experience with computers and developing software. you will hardly have any user in better conditions to help you troubleshoot all this and resolve it. i used to be top 1% on stackoverflow when i used to use it, in the past. look it up. not the best developer out there, by any stretch of imagination. but for sure special enough for you, if you don't abuse me good will too much (broken english intended). a few small issues: email link don't work on opera. i use copy and paste. openning html file on nautilus (or whatever file explorer) also doesn't work. for some reason i see thunderbird as default to open it, and it still doesn't open anyway. i use open with. hibernation doesn't work, so reboot requires me to reopen terminal windows. perhaps i should use termux, but instead i just reopen them manually. and many more. there is a 137gb volume semi-pinned to the sidebar, above trash, that doesn't work. i can manually remove it on terminal (can't remember the command) but instead i just ignore it. and i used chatgpt to solve many other smaller issues. now working with gpt pro, it still can't figure those things out, but it sure can help me on my current front-end work to the point i find value to pay 200usd to this, otherwise, "piece of shit" (for sure most people can't extract any value of it) because it does help to get my work done better than anything else. so it does pay for itself. and as good (or bad) all this combination can be: i still suffer with all those issues for almost 1 month now, ever since i got this machine. good machine otherwise. just wished i had gotten more than 16gb to also use llama locally. and a gpu. anyway... above all, i will really enjoy to just fix the 2 big issues: repeat keys and, video camera by far above all! please. thanks for reading, and let me know if you need any more detail. ~a cauema ahoxus.org/~cregox t.me/caooe +48788487949 -- You received this question notification because your team Canonical Hardware Certification is an answer contact for Ubuntu-Certification. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~canonical-hw-cert Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~canonical-hw-cert More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
