I reported this bug in #731966 back in 2011-03-11. It's not limited to the 64bit version.
I'm using: i686 2.6.38-8-generic-pae xubuntu 11.04 firefox 5.0 acroread 9.4.2 All patched up to the latest version this morning. Still same problem.
