Public bug reported:

Adding gtk2-engines-murrine:i386 to Skype dependencies improves
integration with the default Unity desktop on 64-bit systems since it
allows Skype (Qt) to pick-up the Ambiance theme instead of Clearlooks.

I'm attaching a screenshot to compare the looks before and after the
installation of this package.
