As I unintentionally just revealed, I've written a Mercurial plugin for cap2.
Place it next to the others in the 'scm' folder, add 'set :scm, :mercurial' to the recipe file and yo should be good to go. One thing I'd like to point out is that the revision to deploy is set to your local tip. If you forget to push it to the server, cap deploy will fail and rollback, a behavior I find preferable than simply retreiving the latest version, which might not be what you intended. This was the case for the previous Mercurial plugin as well, but all you Subversion people might not be aware of it :).
