Thanks Jamis, but that's exactly what I did and I get the same error
as the OP:

ERROR:  While executing gem ... (Zlib::BufError)
buffer error

I've tried on several windows machines and it's the same error, which
is why I was wondering if there was a gem package I could just
download and install locally.
